website development process

hiring a web developer is a big deal, and ensuring the fit between ‘us’ is important for both of us for many reasons

our process

  • INFORMATION complete the website development worksheet (see below).

  • CONSULTATION schedule a consultation for a discussion on your needs for the discovery & proposal chat.

  • DESIGN once we’ve agreed on the package and have a signed contract, we’ll create a look and feel for the site, usually over the course of a week or 2 (depending on your feedback and how extensive it is).

    • this call is to help us gather enough information on the project details to put together a proposal.

    • it’s typical to ask you to nail down a few specific details before quoting a project (a lot of that is also covered in the Website Development Worksheet – which needs to be filled out prior to our consultation call).

    • we will also want you to find a few designs that you like – check out the inspirations page to see all the possibilities available.

    • other resources – if you need hosting and other design ideas: virtual partner resources page

  • DEVELOPMENT once we have received your content (you will be sent a list of what is needed). This is where we start building out your site.  You’ll then get your first peek to see how things are progressing. During the 2nd and 3rd weeks, we’ll continue making adjustments until you’re satisfied.

  • SOFT LAUNCH we will have the site ‘live’ and you can get feedback from your family, friends, and clients prior to announcing your new site to the world.

  • TWEAKS if you have any quick tweaking that needs to be done this is when that happens – after you get all the feedback etc.

  • LAUNCH when we launch the site, we create a series of how-to videos showing how everything works on your specific site. This is how we ensure you’re able to use everything on the backend (Dashboard) of your site.
